The heated garden area was a lovely surprise.

The bathroom was shared and not private, which posed a safety risk for my children. To make matters worse, the noise from the bar's dance floor directly below was unbearable. The furniture was in disrepair, and there was a distinct lack of cleanliness throughout the room and the communal areas.

The staff was pretty friendly and knowledgeable and catered to my every need. The rooms were fabulous and large with bar, a good bed, for example, just what was needed. There were a microwave oven, a coffeemaker and fridges. The vibe here was family...

While the cosy pub atmosphere provided some comfort, my experience was overshadowed by significant issues. The promised family room was inadequate, hosting only five beds for eight people, and the broken toilet was a major inconvenience. I did enjoy some decent cleaning standards and found the linens to be quite comfortable, made for a somewhat restful night despite the chaos.

The location was quite convenient for exploring the nearby Lake District. Definitely a nice spot for families looking to relax!
